Characteristic:
1045 steel is a medium strength steel available in the black hot rolled or normalized condition. 1045 steel round bars have good weldability and good machinability.
Application:
The hardenability of 1045 carbon steel round bars is low, and it is recommended that tempering and hardening should only be performed on sections with a size of about 60mm.
