Application:
 

304L steel coil is a derivative steel type of 304 stainless steel coil, and the carbon content of 304 steel coil is reduced from 0.08% to 0.030%.

Therefore, 304L grade steel coil has the intergranular corrosion resistance that 304 grade steel does not have, and also has excellent welding performance, and does not require heat treatment after welding. Therefore, 304L stainless steel is preferably used in environments where intergranular corrosion is prone to occur in welds and heat-affected zones of sensitive alloys.

In cases where weld quality is the primary factor, it is recommended to choose ASTM 304L stainless steel instead of 304 steel. But in most corrosive environments, the corrosion resistance of 304L stainless steel coil is the same as that of 304 steel.
