Heat treatment specification and metallographic structure:

1. Heat treatment specification: solution 1010 ~ 1150℃ quick cooling.

2. Metallographic structure: The structure is characterized by austenitic type.

Application:

Grade 303 stainless steel is a non-magnetic austenitic stainless steel, and it is also an easy-to-cut stainless steel grade.
The composition of 303 stainless steel sheet contains sulfur alloy elements, the steel has higher machinability, but the corrosion resistance of 303 steel is not as good as that of 304 steel due to the sulfur element.
303 stainless steel plate has the same excellent toughness as other austenitic stainless steel grades, but the sulfur element slightly reduces its toughness.
303 stainless steel sheet has good oxidation resistance at high temperature up to 927°C. It should be noted that although 303 steel has good heat resistance, it contains 0.15% carbon element. It is not recommended to be used continuously in an environment with a temperature higher than 760 ° C. It is easy to sensitize, because carbide precipitation will cause scaling.
303 stainless steel plate is generally not recommended for welding. If welding is required, use 310 electrode for welding. After welding, annealing is required to eliminate the precipitated carbides.
